The new credentialing process and protocol tests have raised concerns among many of the providers throughout the region.  The two largest issues are the general knowledge test that was selected to be used is centered around the protocols that are currently used by two other regions.  Also, some have contacted us to say that the protocol tests for the 2011 Finger Lakes Protocols is poorly worded and confusing.

That having been said, the following changes have been made immediately.  The general knowledge tests have been dropped from the credentialing requirement until an adequate replacement can either be identified or produced.  Also, when taking the 2011 Finger Lakes Protocol test at the Intermediate and/or CC/Paramedic levels answer the questions as they fit the Finger Lakes protocols.  Take the test with your protocol books open/available and answer the questions as they fit.  This is not meant to be a state test but a way to familiarize providers with the protocols.
